Burns is a priest of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and a member of the Voluntas Dei Institute. He currently serves as President of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. A psychologist, educator, and Catholic leader, Father Burns has dedicated his priestly ministry to evangelization, leadership formation, Catholic education, and helping others grow in faith and discipleship. Before his appointment at Saint Mary's, Father served as Dean of the Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College and has taught at Boston University, Harvard Medical School, and the University of St. Thomas.
