Formation Month 10

Meeting Reminder & Reflections

Dear Friend,

It has been a blessing to be journeying together toward our consecrations to our Guardian Angels. We are very thankful to our dear prayer warrior and facilitator, Eloise, for her dedication and leadership, which have helped us all so much. Please keep her and her husband, Jerry, in your prayers.

Be aware that the readings, prayers, and exercises for month 10 are a bit more involved than those in previous months - PARTICULARLY on Thursdays and Fridays, so be sure to take a look at what is suggested and plan accordingly.

The Divine Mercy for America GAC (Guardian Angel Consecration) gathering will be on Monday, March 16, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The Zoom link and more details are below the reflection questions.

The Zoom link and details are provided below the Opus Angelorum Reflection Questions.

We look forward to seeing you on March 16th.

Consecration to the Guardian Angel

The Weekly Commemoration of the Passio Domini and Love for the Cross

The Cross of Jesus is a school through which every Christian must pass. One of the duties of all the members in the Opus Angelorum is the weekly remembrance of the Passio Domini, the Passion of our Lord. This devotion helps us to discover God’s love for us. As we reflect on the truth that God could simply have forgiven men’s sins by an act of mercy and instead, he endured all the physical and spiritual sufferings of His Passion to give us an unquestionable proof of God’s love for each of us personally, we are induced to love Him in return, to avoid sin in the future and to forevermore serve Him better. How very wise God is!!!!!

1.    What are some ways we can meditate on the Passion of Christ?

2. When Jesus asked Peter, James, and John to “Watch with me!”, it was a call to not just those three, but to all the Church to console our Lord in His agony. Not only was our Lord strengthened by the angel, but also by all those generous souls foreseen by Him who have kept Him company in the Garden of Olives, watching and sharing His bitterness and mortal anguish. When we commemorate His Passion, we have the extreme honor of consoling Our Lord. How else might we console Him?

3.    This compassion establishes the connection between our lives and Jesus’ sufferings so that our souls become like the branches that receive the life-giving juice from the vine. We need this connection because it fills us with love for Christ, sorrow for His torments and repentance for our sins. This compassion flows into our hearts and sustains our souls disposing them to charitable acts and making us capable of great sacrifices. Can you see better how it is not us who do these things, but Christ in us who does everything?

4.    How can we see things with the eyes of faith? How can our Holy Angel help us with this?

5.    When we accompany Christ in His Passion, we intercede through intercessory prayer, by acts of love, and by offering the Father drops of Jesus’ Precious Blood for the salvation of the world. How do we gather these precious drops of His blood?

This meeting is only open to those who have applied and been acknowledged by Opus Angelorum for this Formation year. It is not recorded.
