We hope you are enjoying getting to know and love your Guardian Angel more intimately during this time of formation.


For your convenience, we've jotted down below the direction and "tasks" for the month found in the 5th Formation Letter in our books, as well as the REFLECTIONS supplied by Opus Angelorum. We suggest you review them now and periodically throughout the month.


NEXT MEETING INFO


The next gathering of the Divine Mercy for America GAC group (Guardian Angel Formation) will take place on Monday, October 20, at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The Zoom link and more details are below the reflection questions.


A reminder will be sent on the day of the meeting, 30 minutes before login time. However, we strongly suggest that you paste the Zoom link into your calendar or a convenient location in case there is a problem with the email system (or the one sending them).

The Consecration to the Guardian Angel

First Fundamental Direction: Adoration


1.   How do we strive to live in the presence of God?

 

2.   CCC 2097 – The worship of the one God sets man free from turning in on himself, from the slavery of sin and the idolatry of the world.  Discuss.

 

3.   Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth.  Pleni Sunt Caeli et terra Gloria Tua.  Hosanna in excelsis.  Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini.  Hosanna in excelsis. 


Given that every Sanctus that you pray sanctifies the place where you stand and the time in which you stand, list some creative places and times to pray this prayer.

 

4.   CCC 2648 – Adoration of the thrice-Holy and sovereign God of love blends with humility and gives assurance to our supplications.  How does adoration blend with humility?  What other fruits come from adoration?  Give examples.

 

5.   St. Bernard of Clairvaux said, “When Jesus is present with His body in us, the angels surround us as a holy guard.”  Contemplate this.  What effect does this have on your reception of the Holy Eucharist?

 

6.   How do we give ourselves over to God in adoration?

 

7.   What are some other “gods” in our lives?  What are some signs we can look for to become consciously aware of those idols we adore?

 

8.   How do you adore God?

 

9.   Pay attention to the words of the priest during Mass and see if you don’t start noticing where he speaks of the angels.  Do you know now specifically where they are mentioned?
