Every Sunday afternoon for 24 years I've sat down to make sure the week for The People's Chemist is locked and loaded. That means making damn sure that inventory and quality control checks are in line with FDA Approved Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Every single natural medicine I design and produce is registered with the FDA for the processing methodology. The FDA only regulates DRUGS and manufacturing procedures. I don't manufacture drugs. Therefore, the FDA only approves my manufacturing practices.

This is important to me because their expertise ads to mine. It's also an assurance for people who don't trust dietary supplements and - rightly so - want to be damn sure they're getting safe and effective products from me.

For almost three decades, my family has grown up on all of my natural medicines.

...last night, Lea-Ann and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. Healthy and fit, we realized how vital The People's Chemist has been to our own longevity and protecting our kids from meds.

Then we thought about the ups and downs we've had as a couple. We lost count of how many ups we had compared to our "downs." But we did reflect on one strong lesson we've learned...

Over the 26 years we learned that to make things go right is never about the status quo, religion, or what others believed was possible.

We built something different — something we uniquely imagined together….

Four home births. No loans. No mortgages. No meds. No conventional health insurance. Self employed. 

Just trust. Instinct.

We learned that I have to act to feel. She has to feel to act.

Finding each other in the middle of these polar opposites takes everything we have…which is that undeniable, one-of-kind feeling we got when we first saw each other.

That wasn’t chemistry — it was alchemy - the ability to create anything from nothing. 

Coffee helped me…Wine helped her. And I’ve loved watching her drink every sip, through the ups and the downs.
