June Events 2015

In creating this universe God revealed two aspects: the masculine or fatherly, and the feminine or motherly. If you close your eyes and visualize vast, illimitable space, you become overwhelmed and enthralled---you feel naught but pure wisdom. That hidden, infinite sphere wherein there is no creation, no stars or planets---only pure wisdom--- is the Father.

International Day of Yoga June 21, 2015
Father's Day

June 21st 2015 is the first “International Day of Yoga”. This idea was first proposed by India’s Prime Minister to the United Nations in September of 2014, saying: “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.”

Following his proposal, the U.N. adopted the resolution, with a record 175 countries co-sponsoring the initiative – the highest number of supporters in the organization’s history.

Since Paramahansa Yogananda's arrival in the U.S. nearly a century ago, hundreds of thousands have received instruction in his Kriya Yoga teachings and today he is widely revered as the “Father of Yoga in the West”.
