May Center Department Monastic Visit in Dallas-Fort Worth

The DFW-SRF Meditation Group held a Center Department Visit the weekend of May 27th-30th, 2016. The 4 day weekend event was filled with inspiration, love and devotion from beginning to end. None went away without feeling a sense of upliftment from being involved with the activities, meditations, and sharing personal, heartwarming stories of their experiences with our members and group.

Our Friday outing was canceled due to bad weather so we gathered for a time of great inspiration in our chapel. The days of activities included a group workshop on Saturday followed by an inspiring video by Daya Mata, "The Aims and Ideals of SRF", meditations, kirtan chanting, Energization Exercises, socials with wonderful vegetarian food, and our Sunday morning inspirational service given by Brahmachari Wolfgang. Brahmachari Lynn spent time with the children during our Sunday service. Great was their enjoyment for this rare opportunity.

Some of us were able to come together to see the Aarti ceremony at the Hindu Temple, close to, us on Monday. Afterward we enjoyed each others company in our India Hall for a lunch, inspiring conversation, and laughter.

We also had a christening of baby Rishik Vohra in our chapel on Sunday. His parents and grandparents were delighted beyond measure for this blessing.

The events had record attendance for our chapel and India Hall. We were joined by very new and long time members, members from far away States, India, and a member that has moved to Zimbabwe, South Africa.

Our ambassadors from Mother Center, Brahmachari Lynn and Brahmachari Wolfgang exemplified what we have all come to know and love about our guru's monastics. They brought heightened awareness of master's teachings on every level and by their example, showed us how to live with great joy.

As a group, we must thank all those that helped make this divine weekend possible. We want to thank those that helped with setup and cleanup of every event, starting with our Day of Service the week before. So many things must come together to make these events possible, from the food planning and delivery, flowers, ushers, drivers, note taking, pictures, and audio visual expertise, all driven by the love for and of our guru Paramahansa Yogananda.

May we hold on to this feeling of harmony, friendship, love and joy that is possible from coming together as Master's large family. Joy, Joy, Joy.
