"The day was one of the most memorable in my life. It was a sunny Thursday, I remember, in July 1915, a few weeks after my graduation from college. On the inner balcony of his Serampore hermitage, Master dipped a new piece of white silk into a dye of ocher, the traditional color of the Swami Order. After the cloth had dried my guru draped it around me as a renunciants robe.
As I knelt before Sri Yukteswar, and for the first time heard him pronounce my new name, my heart overflowed with gratitude. How lovingly and tirelessly had he labored, that the boy Mukunda be someday transformed into the monk Yogananda!"

March Mahasamadhi Commemoration Services Paramahansa Yogananda Mahasamadhi Commemoration Service Thursday, March 7th, 2024 Thursday, March 7th we will hold a Mahasamadhi Commemoration Service for Paramahansa Yogananda starting at 8:00 pm.
Please bring a flower or flowers as a symbol of devotion to God and Guru. The devotee should not smell the flower(s) thus taking the scent for one's self a part of the gift meant for God. Also please bring a devotional offering in an envelope (provided) as a symbol of loyalty and faithfulness to the cause of SRF.

Service Times Dallas Fort Worth Meditation Group Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism. Saturday 3-hour Meditation Service 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Sunday morning Meditation Service 10:00 am - 10:45 am Sunday morning Reading Service 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Sunday School for children ages 5 to 12 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Saturday 3-Hour Meditation Service This service will begin with a prayer, inspirational reading and a chant. Periods of meditation will be broken on the hour with chanting. We will be practicing the SRF Healing Technique at the end of the service. We have initiated a security measure of locking the front door at 10 minutes after the top of the hour. So each hour the front door will be unlocked for 10 minutes beginning at the top of the hour. There will be a sign on the front door announcing this. Please enter and exit, and use the rest rooms on the hour during chants so as not to disturb others. |
