"DRIVERX" OPENING AT THE LAEMMLE MONICA!
Dear Devil Whisperers,
I hope you are all preparing for a nice holiday weekend. I wanted to let you know that the other film I was producing while we were making Devil's Whisper is now finally opening. IFC Films/Sundance Selects is releasing DriverX in theaters and on demand beginning November 30th! We produced and released Devil's Whisper in the middle of me making DriverX. Why did it take so long to make it? Because I self-financed it with string and gum and the support of some amazing Kickstarter Backers. I'm super proud of the film and I hope you'll join me at the theater, as we have a number of special screening events planned for the week we're playing in LA.
DriverX is about a middle-aged stay-at-home dad who has to start driving for an Uber-like Rideshare company to help support his working wife and two young daughters. It was written and directed by my regular collaborator Henry Barrial and stars Patrick Fabian from AMC's Better Call Saul. It also features a number of other familiar faces, including Tanya Clarke (Banshee), Desmin Borges (You're The Worst), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Oscar Nunez (The Office) and many others.
The film is also opening in New York at the IFC Center Nov. 30th, so if you know anyone in NYC who would enjoy this, please let them know about it. We're sneak previewing the film this Tuesday, Nov. 27th with a cast and crew Q&A moderated by none other than acclaimed playwright/actor Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, subUrbia, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll, Law & Order: Criminal Intent).
