June Featured Specials
Vinegar
Granny Smith Balsamic Vinegar: Bursting with the tart acidity of granny smith apples, this vinegar is a pleasant complement to the spiciness of greens like watercress and arugula. Made with Italian apple purée, white balsamic vinegar, and just a splash of barrel-aged apple cider vinegar. We love using it in Waldorf salad, Asian coleslaw, or even as a marinade for shrimp or scallops, it’s so versatile! This month we recommend pairing the Granny Smith Balsamic Vinegar with Roasted Onion and Cilantro Olive Oil. Additionally, combine with olive oils such as Garlic, Persian Lime, Basil, Herbes de Provence, Butter, and Milanese Gremolata for a flavorful salad dressing or marinade.

Olive Oil
Roasted Onion & Cilantro Olive Oil: A nice balance of astringent and sweet, our roasted onion & cilantro infused olive oil has a very fresh depth of flavor. Its herbaceous piquant notes translate to a perfect olive oil for Latin, Asian and Middle Eastern dishes. We especially like using it in fish, chicken, flank or skirt steak marinades, but it is also exceptionally delicious drizzled over freshly grilled corn. Our go-to olive oil for tacos, guacamole, salsas, chili and rice.
Combine with Balsamic such as Granny Smith Apple, Aged Bianco, 18 Year Traditional, Black Currant, Sicilian Lemon, Honey & Ginger, Coconut, Golden Pineapple, and Honey Serrano to add unique pizzazz to your favorite dishes.

Spice
Ground Ceylon Cinnamon: “True” cinnamon, known as Ceylon, originated in India and has a stronger flavor than traditional store-bought Cassia cinnamon. A subtly complex flavor that does not come across in the spicier and stronger cassia, Ceylon contains a delicately floral citrus aroma. This ground Ceylon cinnamon is ideal for baking or for dusting across coffee, fresh fruit, or pastries.

Salt
Matcha Sea Salt: A combination of course grain sea salt and finely ground green tea leaves, matcha sea salt contains a nutty and green vegetal flavor that serves as a great finishing salt. A classic condiment for deep-fried tempura, matcha sea salt functions as a colorful and flavorful addition to your favorite fried dishes, eggs, salads, or even popcorn. Try using matcha salt to rim cocktails or to sprinkle on a matcha milkshake.

Chiles
Gebhardt Chili Powder: Gebhardt’s Chili Powder was the first commercially blended chili powder—around 1902. It has become the benchmark blend for the smoky and sweet flavor of Tex-Mex chili. The deep red color and rich aroma make it ideal meat, tacos, sauce for enchiladas, chili, chicken, cheese, egg, fish, game and oysters. This chili powder pairs well with flavors like cumin, onion, adobo, and even ginger.

Artisano's Monthly Bacon Club
All the bacon at the grocery store is pretty much the same: factory-farmed commodity pork, sliced to the same thickness, usually flavored with nothing more exciting than black pepper. But the world of bacon is so much bigger than that.

Each month we'll deliver a mouth-watering selection of thick-cut, artisan-style bacons from specialty, gourmet butchers across the country.
