NEW COOKING SERIES COMING IN NOVEMBER
We have been working hard on a great November schedule. We are excited to introduce two new cooking class option. 
  • Chef Series-We take well known Chefs (like Thomas Keller) and pick a dinner menu and wine pairing from one of their cook books  and Chef Gordon will incorporate a little of himself and a little of Artisano's. (we will feature 6 chefs over the next 6-7 month) Demonstration Class
  • Bon Appetit - You see all these great recipes in Bon Appetit but never find the time to reproduce them. Chef Gordon will take 3 or 4 recipes out of the current magazine and produce a great meal with wine/beer pairing. Demonstration Class
We will be providing more detail and signup for November's event in the coming weeks but wanted to throw out some dates to get them on your calendar. We have two events in October and you will find them below.
  • November 1st-Paella Class-Hands-on make your own Paella with a friend and take home the pan.
  • November 5th- "NEW" Bon Appetit Night
  • November 8th-Olive Oil 101 Class
  • November 14th-Come taste some great wines for the Holidays
  • November 30th "NEW" Chef Series

Hands-On Knife Skills Introductory Class with Chef Gordon Gomila -$45 per person

Doesn’t matter how high quality your ingredients are, if your knife skills aren’t up to par cooking is going to feel like a chore. Anybody can pick up a knife and cut vegetables or meat, but knowing how to use a knife properly can have a big impact on you food.

Knowing how to use knives skillfully is the foundation of all cooking, and should not be scary or frustrating. In this hands-on introductory class, you’ll start with a discussion of various styles of knives and when to use them, how to properly hold them for efficiency, speed and safety, proper storage, cleaning, and the differences between sharpening and honing. You will learn how to slice, dice, and chop in the safest and most efficient manner. At the end of our class we will enjoy the fruits of our labor with a small meal from items we prepared in class.

What to expect:
Speed up your cooking process with masterful knife skills
Learn which knife to use in different cooking situations
Practice classic cuts like slice, dice, mince and julienne and intro to cutting brunoise, baton, batonette and chiffonad.
 
Sharpen knives and learn to store them properly

We will end the night with a light meal and beverages. Upon completion of the class, you will receive a recipe packet, resources for kni
fe maintenance and a newfound confidence in the kitchen. Bring in your chef’s knife for a free consultation!

October 27th        7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Soup Class  $45 per person

The weather is getting colder and there is no better way to warm up than with a hot bowl of homemade soup. Our amazing Chef Gordon Gomila will warm up your tummy and sharpen your skills with making a nice comfort soup this season for you and your family to enjoy. We will cover the basics of making and flavorful chicken stock, creating the perfect soup for this chilly weather, and demonstrating on essential knife skills in the process.

We will demonstrate how to make the following soups from stock:
  • Roasted Butternut Squash
  • Creamy Potato Leek
  • Chicken Chowder
Additionally, we will provide salad, few appetizers and dessert at the end of class and enjoy the creations made by the talented Chef Gordon.

Each attendee will receive a 10% discount on products purchased the day of the class. You can register online or call the store (317) 251-4100. Be sure to notify us of any dietary restrictions in advance and we will TRY to accommodate your needs.

Please note that a limited number of seats are available. If you have a large group please call the store 317-251-4100 to book your class. If the class you are interested in attending is sold out please put your name on the wait list because we do have cancellations from time to time.

Cancellations require 2-day advance notice for any class cancellation (1 week for groups larger than 4). You will receive store credit usable towards the purchase of another class of your choice. In the event Artisano's cancels the class, you will be notified as early as possible and you can apply the credit towards a future class, to use on products or we can provide you with a full refund.
