CAPSTONE PROJECTS
How to Take Advantage of Local Business Expertise
Following on from our December 2016 Executive Directors Network, in which we explored the opportunities for working with local businesses through the Leadership Groups operated by the Business Council of Fairfield County, Bridgeport Regional Business Council and the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, for our next meeting we will learn about the resources available at the business schools at our local universities, specifically collaborative capstone projects undertaken by graduate students or undergraduates as part of their studies.

Three of our members will present projects they undertook with a local business school at Fairfield University, University of Bridgeport and at Sacred Heart University. As all projects turned out to be marketing projects, we are also inviting our marketing colleagues who are members of our Marketing Roundtable.

Our meeting will be held on March 7, 10-11:30am, and is hosted by Sacred Heart University at its new state-of-the-art Martire Theatre at 5401 Park Avenue, Fairfield.

The Presenters and the Projects will be:
  • Ashley Volkens, Managing Director, Downtown Cabaret Theatre and
  • Dr. Arjun Chaudhuri, Professor of Marketing, Charles F. Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University on “Building Audiences and Engagement at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre"
  • Laurence Caso, Executive Director, The Klein Memorial Auditorium, and
  • Carrie A. Picardi, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, University of Bridgeport"Made for Each Other: Collaborations between Colleges and Non-profits"
  • Marti Etter, Executive Director, The Ballet School of Stamford and
  • Valerie L. Christian, Assistant Professor, Management, Jack Welch College of Business, Sacred Heart University: "Developing a Marketing Plan for Ballet School of Stamford Benefit."
As usual we invite you to come by 10am for coffee and networking; we will start the program by 10:15pm, will include plenty of time for questions and discussion and will leave time for more networking at the end of the meeting.
