The PROGRESSIVE GALLERY TOUR continues!

The Progressive Gallery Tour is a program designed to bring our members, collectors and the art-loving public together, once a month, to discover the richness and variety of our commercial gallery members across the region.

Each month from September forward, we visit the next town - working from Greenwich to Shelton - to celebrate and explore the vitality and immense variety of artistic expression on display in our commercial member galleries.

Join us as we continue our third season in New Canaan, with a visit to three commercial galleries Fri. Nov. 30, 6-7pm: Sorelle Gallery Fine Art, Handwright Gallery & Framing, and Heather Gaudio Fine Art. This visit synchronizes with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce Holiday Stroll and an opening reception at Heather Gaudio Fine Art.

We start with Sorelle Gallery, where we will experience Light Effects, the latest works by Ken Elliott and Alina B, accompanied by Kate Smith Interiors’ designer vignette, Blurred Edges.
Ken Elliott’s landscapes are rich exaggerations of nature. He is inspired by the trees, skies, lakes and streams of Colorado. Starting as a picture framer and art restorer, he later decided to become a full time artist.
Alina B. manipulates the silver layer of mirrors with acids and paint. Surprising passages of color and pattern, entwined with preserved reflective areas, create charged, fluid compositions that respond to light and environment.
Kate Smith’s vignette, Blurred Edges, features   John Duckworth's photo- graph Spirari - 17. The inspiration comes from handmade Ikat fabrics that mimic the blurred edges of the photograph. Custom fabric decor provided by The Sewing Loft of Avon.
Next is Handwright Gallery, which is exhibiting local and regional award-winning fine artists in its end of year Holiday Show. Running the gamut from abstraction to photorealism, traditional still life to landscapes, the collection, curated by owner Betsy Jesup, has something for all homes and tastes. The work of 15 artists is being displayed: James Coe, Patricia Davis-Ganek, Mireille Duchesne, Carolyn Edlund, Katherine Evans, Karen Fitzgerald, Rose-Marie Fox, Linda George, Jeff Gola, Dana Goodfellow, Dick McEvoy, Vera Rahn, Claudia Seymour, George Van Hook, and Antonia Walker.
