Nylen Gallery/Picture This in Westport is the Next Stop on the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County's Progressive Gallery Tour on Friday evening, February 19th, Featuring the Work of Artist Olga Klymyk
(Norwalk, CT) The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is pleased to announce that the sixth stop on their "Progressive Gallery Tour of Coastal Fairfield County" is happening on Friday, February 19th, at Nylen Gallery/Picture This, located at 772 Post Road East, in Westport, from 5:30-7:30pm.

The Alliance's Progressive Gallery Tour stop at the Nylen Gallery coincides with the opening of an exhibition of watercolors by Stamford-based artist, Olga Klymyk. Olga began her art career in her native Ukraine, majoring in art at university. She went on to teach in schools and in private lessons and began selling her works. She arrived in the United States in 2006, became a citizen in 2011 and is busy establishing her art career here. “I love to paint with watercolors, since it's my strongest point. It is hopeful that my previous success will be continued in the U.S.” The paintings feature landscapes of New England, florals and still lifes. Olgo will speak about her work at 6pm.

The Nylen gallery is owned by Wendy Nylen, who graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Art History. She managed Picture This in Westport for 9 years (1990-1999), returning as gallery owner in Dec. 2007 after working in digital printing at Image Works of Westport with Don Sigovich and Mark Bunger. Wendy is also an artist working in pastel, acrylic and oils.
The Cultural Alliance's Progressive Gallery Tour began on September 30 at the C.Parker Gallery in Greenwich, and then visited the Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery in Stamford in October, followed by a November stop at the Heather Gaudio Gallery in New Canaan. The LeClerc Contemporary Gallery, in Norwalk, hosted a festive holiday party as their contribution to the tour, where attendees enjoyed a sculpture exhibit entitled "Elements of Abstraction." The last stop, at Southport Galleries on January 20th, was full and vibrant, with many artists, collectors and arts supporters from throughout the region in attendance.

The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is dedicated to creating powerful connections among Fairfield County's diverse audiences, artists, organizations, and creative businesses.
