CULTIVATING COLLECTORS  PANEL 2 - VIDEO
A video recording is now available of the second Cultivating Collectors panel discussion The Landscape of Collecting, organized in partnership with Silvermine Arts Center, which attracted an audience of close to 100 people April 27. Focusing on developing relationships with collectors, the panel comprised Evan Beard (U.S. Trust), Marty Baron (collector), Sharon Butler (Two Coats of Paint), Robin Jaffe Frank (writer, curator) Terri Smith (Franklin Street Works), and Dmitri Wright, painter. Stay tuned for details about the upcoming art showcase.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

LINN CASSETTA

Linn Cassetta is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and was the first American to receive an MA from the Royal College of Art in London. She is a design professional with a background in apparel and footwear design, manufacturing and marketing. Factory experience includes Japan, China, Turkey and Italy. After designing shoes for Andrew Geller in Italy and developing Calvin Klein’s first shoe collection, she had her own apparel label and eventually became Design Director of an international private label division of C. Itoh. She lived in London, Paris and New York before settling in Westport. During many of her three+ decades here she focused her efforts on fine decorative painting and trompe l’oeil. Her work was included in Martha Stewart’s New Old House. She designed several restaurant and home interiors, created earthenware collections for Deruta of Italy and restored a c.1900 French villa, all of which have appeared in publications. Currently Linn is immersed primarily in a deep exploration of EGGS, which she regards as "The Most Perfect Thing". This object has captured her imagination since early childhood: “It represents the mystery of life in one exquisite and simple package; it bestows peace upon the beholder; it is inherently both strong and fragile.” The occasional bird and or feather float into this multi disciplinary study of hers which includes painting (oil) and encaustic collagraph. Lin remarks that she is in the businessss of making things beautiful and making beautiful things. Linn keeps a studio at the American Fabrics Building and is a member of the Westport Artist Collective
MARGARET STAPOR COSTA

Margaret Stapor Costa is a Norwalk-based film and video producer, who been in the business for over 30 years. She has just released her first documentary film, My Name is Joan, that has been accepted in to nine film festivals, and which has already won her the Award of Distinction at the Canadian International Short Film Festival, the Gold Award at the Short Documentary Festival in Toronto and an award for a female filmmaker at Best Shorts Competition in California. My Name is Joan  tells the story of Susan Drew, born Joan Fagan to an unwed mother in Dublin, Ireland in 1949. The film highlights the illegal exporting of children by the Catholic Church to families in other countries for profit while the Irish Government looked the other way. You can see the film here, at the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival on Sat. May 20, 11am at the Ridgefield Library. With a BA in English from College of the Holy Cross and an MS in communications with a concentrate on production from Brooklyn College, Margaret spent her first 10 years after college working at CBS, Inc. She has won several awards for broadcast excellence including the Matrix Award, for Women in Communications, and an award for her Working Women television series. She has been President of Aries Productions, a full-service production company specializing in corporate and commercial videos, since 1992. She has produced many videos for Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and local businesses and individuals. She is currently also Executive Director of the Norwalk Education Foundation. ED KATZ

Ed Katz is a marketing consultant at Katnip Marketing by day, and a theater producer and critic by night. Ed founded Katnip, a marketing and media consultancy, in 2008. Katnip works within the arts, B2B, B2C, entertainment, government, healthcare, media, non-profit and professional services sectors. He has boosted the online presence of his clients through interviews and feature articles in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Vanity Fair, as well as numerous television, radio and print outlets plus digital and social media nationally, regionally and locally. In 2014, Katnip Marketing won the Best Marketing Consultants Award from Best of Westport. Ed graduated from Syracuse University with a dual major - in Marketing from the Whitman School of Management - and in Film from the Newhouse School of Communications. As a theater enthusiast, Ed attended and graduated from New York’s Commercial Theatre Institute, which trains and develops emerging producers, and was a member of Theater Resources Unlimited. Ed's theatre reviews appear on WICC 600 AM radio, in Bridgeport, as well as the Applause Theatre and Ticket Service site, in New York City, and the KatzReviews Facebook page. Ed is also on the producing team of The King's Speech, the play, which recently completed a critically acclaimed run in London and is preparing for Broadway. He has written a musical play that is in discussions with a popular rock group in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And he is producer of an award-winning sci-fi rock musical comedy, Save the Robots, which is looking at a theatrical run in Greenwich Village this summer. He is on the Board of Bridgeport's Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport. Elizabeth AgrestaCarol DixonJill Nichols and Marjorie Poe all have work in the Greenwich Art Society's 100th Annual Juried Show at the Bendheim Gallery, Greenwich Arts Council. Juried by Kelly Baum, The Cynthia Hazen Polsky and Leon Polsky Curator of Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the show runs through May 31.
Katherine Evans and Rose-Marie Fox are in a fascinating 4-person show at New Canaan's Handwright Gallery and Framing that opened May 4 and is on view through May 27. Abstraction: The Illusion of Interpretation takes a fresh look at abstraction from four perspectives: "Every work of art in this show proves that reality can be transformed into abstraction, interpreted as illusion and that that illusion can become just as real as what inspired it."
Lucienne Buckner, sculptor and Yuko Ike, painter, have a collaborative joint show, Organic Metropolis opening at Loft Artists Association Sat. May 6, 6-8pm. Both show Nature finding it’s way back into the heart and soul of the city. While Yuko addresses the idea of the organic metropolis with serene and vibrant impressionistic cityscapes, Lucienne imagines nature’s invasion of the objects typical of interior design and urban living with a surrealist flavor.
Bruce Horan, Marjorie Poe and Sergey Stepanenko all have work in Harmony and Dissonance, a new gallery exhibit of artists in the St. Philip's Artists Guild, or SPAG. Come for the big party Saturday night, May 6, 6-9pm at the Manice Lockwood Mansion on the grounds of St. Philip Church in Norwalk, 23 France St., Norwalk. Or come back Sunday, 1-4pm
INDIVIDUAL NEWS
Karla Bernstein’s Hull II is one of 26 photos chosen out of more than 700 entries for The Cultural Center of Cape Cods on-line juried exhibit Abstractions.  Hull II is part of an abstract series of hull images Karla has been making recently. See the Hull series here; see her other work here.
Bevi Bullwinkel won first prize in mixed media at the Rowayton Arts Center's Community Show that runs through May 28, for Respect: The Dancer. An acrylic and charcoal painting that shows a dancer who is huddled in a protective, seemingly threatened posture, this is the piece that had also been shown in the Westport Arts Center's I Am More exhibition. Jurors includes members of the Pratt Institute as well as Yale School of Art.
Ann Chernow has been invited to show several of her prints in WORKS ON PAPER: A Cultural Exchange Exhibition, of works by American and Romanian artists, May 11-Nov. 4, 2017, at Blue Hill & Art Cultural Center, Blue Hill Plaza, Pearl River, NY. At right Laura Walking (2015, Lithograph from one stone, 11x14”). A different selection of Ann's work will travel to WORKS ON PAPER at the Muzeul National in Bucharest, Romania, July 27 - September 3, 2017.
Congratulations to Heidi Lewis Coleman for receiving First Place Award for her acrylic and cut paper pieces, Tide Pool and Valyria (at right) in the Stamford Art Association's 18th Annual Vivian & Stanley Reed Marine Show: "Water!"  showing through May 25. The juror, John Harris, is a Fairfield County artist whose work explores the properties of water. These pieces are part of Heidi's Dreamscape Series, "imaginary landscapes inspired by the ancient lands of mythology and cultural lore, whether historical, fictional or fantastical."
Joseph Dermody has a dozen new works that he is showing as Energy + Art as part of the ART to the Avenue festival, in the Tesla Showroom, 340 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich. Joseph also has a piece, Brave Purple (2017, acrylic on canvas, 36x36") at the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich for the Alzheimers Association CT chapter fundraiser, Celebrating Hope
Rose-Marie Fox has 12 of her abstracts in Handwright Gallery's Abstraction: The Illusion of Interpretation   through May 27. At right, Triboro Dawn (2016, acrylic on canvas, 36X36", click for larger image), reminiscent of the view of Manhattan just over the Triboro Bridge, in this case returning from a long journey from China. She comments: "My paintings are dreamscapes – I begin a painting quickly just moving and placing paint and then the painting sparks a memory and then I coax the paint to shape to my memory – becoming part of the visual experience. I never know what I am painting before I begin – just like a dream it just unfolds."
Ellen Gordon has all three panels of her triptych Exquisite Corpse (2016, mixed media, 3 panels, each 18"x24," detail at right; click for complete triptych) on exhibit at the Bendheim Gallery’s, Greenwich Art Society's 100th Annual Exhibition. The triptych was originally created for the exhibition of the same name last summer at the Loft Artists Association
Ellen Gould submitted her Delicate Balance (2017, digital photograph, 10"x8" as printed, detail at right, click for complete image) to the 2017 Connecticut Daffodil Show hosted by the Greenwich Daffodil Society, in Christ Church, Greenwich, April 26-April 27, 2017. The category was "Cyberspace," and her image won not only First Award and Best in Show, but also The Greenwich Daffodil Society Silver Tray Award, and The American Daffodil Society Special Award. The judges liked the fact that Ellen captured the original image at the 2015 show. Ellen used her iPhone and used 3 apps to produce the final award-winning image.
Daniel Lanzilotta's Hat for Late Summer (2014, ocean plastic debris and street debris, 18"x9"x9") was accepted for The Museum of Goodbye exhibition, May 19-June 23 at The Creativity Caravan studio and Gallery, 28 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ. Opening May 20, 6-9pm as part of the Montclair Spring Art Walk. Daniel produced this piece in Biarritz France in a series of 26 pieces. Daniel is also speaking Sat. May 6 at the private Dekatur Club, Brooklyn.
Nadia Martinez has her piece Touched By a Thousand Hands (detail at right, click for complete image) in the 6th Annual Creative Mischief Exhibition at the National Academy Museum & School (1083 Fifth Ave.), which is transformed by the vision of the National Academicians, faculty, alumni, and students. Opening reception: May 18, 6-8pm. Then her own curated show, Indecipherable Messages, featuring works by Teresa Waterman, Esther Rosa, Michelle Bratsafolis, and Kathryn Cameron opens at Miranda Art Project Space, 6 N Pearl St. #404 EPort Chester, NY, Sat. May 20th, 6-8pm.
Sooo-z Mastropietrohad a day as an artist in residence at The Children's School in Stamford. She worked with the children on  a simulated fiber tubing project using organic shapes to create a microcosm of color for about 80 students. 
Allyson Monson has, among several pieces in our Progressive Gallery Tour's visit to Elise Contemporary Art, May 17, 6:30-8:30pm,  IT SAYS IT’S RIGHT HERE (2015, limited edition photography, various size, detail at right). Taken in Barcelona, Allyson comments: "The light is so perfect in this image. It allows the viewer to see the movement of a fall breeze through the foliage still on the Autumn trees. It is my hope that this images takes you right into the street and wondering if this person walking is coming towards you or away."
Allyson Monson will also be one of the featured artists at the NEST INSPIRED HOME in Rye, NY,  on Thurs May 11, for a Mother’s Day Event We heART Moms. Allyson is showing images from her Pure, Blur and Urban Nature series including Morning Lookout (2016, dye sublimation onto aluminum with natural wood flush frame, 48 x 48") taken in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Allyson comments “I am most excited to bring a little summer “weather” into people’s lives for that ultimate smile.” Meet the artist, Allyson Monson 11:00-3:00.  
Brec Morgan has a solo show, Voyages and Vistas: Southport to Sri Lanka at Southport Galleries, opening with a special reception for the artist this Thurs. May 11, 5-8pm. Brec's artistic vision is inspired by his nearly 5-year journey circumnavigating the world aboard the 27-foot sailing vessel, Otter. During his solo voyage he sketched and water-colored sunrises and sunsets, ports and ship industry--selling his works along the way to finance his incredible journey. Brec's compilation of his emailed reports, We're All On the Journey shares a year at sea. He recently spent much of this spring painting Southport's unparalleled harbor vistas.His Blessing of the Fleet (2017, detail at right) will be the featured image for Southport village's annual Blessing of the Fleet Parade on Saturday, June 24th. 
Jill NicholsCloud in Blue Minor (oil on aluminum, 36" x 36"), accepted into the Greenwich Art Society's 100th Annual Exhibition (see above), is the first in a series of her cloud paintings on aluminum and copper. “The idea of putting something so ethereal/untouchable onto something so solid from the earth's crust appealed to that sense of the yin yang of life. I find myself captivated by the pure beauty of the sky and all of its moods and hope that my paintings invite the viewer to look up and ponder.”  To read more please visit Jill’s blog.
New member Parkway South took 2nd place this past Sunday at the 5th annual Gotham Battle of the Bands, hosted by the legendary Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village. In preparation for their upcoming album, Reckless Enlightenment, they performed a number of new songs including the audience favorite "Branded", "Losing My Faith", and closing with Heather's killer rendition of Janis Joplin's "Me & Bobby McGee". According to an inside source in the judge's circle, "Parkway South was just fractions of a point from winning it all." 
Marjorie Poe has Rooster in the Greenwich Art Society 100th Annual Juried Exhibition (above) and at least three works in the SPAG exhibition opening this weekend, Harmony and Dissonance (above). Her works include Magpie & Maple (2016, Chinese ink & pigments on rice paper, 15"x23-½"unframed, detail at right). Marjorie points out that Rooster and Magpie are painted using traditional Chinese painting techniques - holding the Chinese brush vertically with ink and pigments painted on cooked rice paper. The finished painting is mounted to a layer of uncooked rice paper, then to silk fabric and another piece of cardboard, before being sent for framing. 
Rick Shaefer donated his Rooster II (2017, charcoal on paper, 40" x 40", framed, click for larger image) for the Bruce Museum's 30th annual Gala Fundraiser event tonight, Friday May 5th at the Greenwich Country Club. Florence Suerig has paintings in the Greenwich SAKS Fifth Avenue Store from May 4th through May 29th as part of the ART to the Avenue festival. After working in large scale porcelain sculpture, Florence is introducing her abstract paintings publically for the first time. Her work will be displayed throughout the store with her large scale MARKS (set of 4 sheets, 37"x50" each, detail at right, click for complete set) shown on the staircase. 
Tammy Winser is one of three artists who will be live painting, bringing the 1950s to life, at the Westport Arts Center (WAC) this Monday, May 8, 10 am – 5pm. She and colleagues will create 10’ x 10’ Mad Men-themed paintings of 1950s advertising offices and home interiors, in the context of WAC’s current Main Street to Madison Avenue show of Westport’s own illustrators of the day. The paintings will help recreate the scenes from the 1950s and 1960s for the May 20 WAC MARTINI MADNESS gala. Meanwhile all are invited to watch the work in progress on Monday.
Dmitri Wright is offering a 4-day Spring Plein Air Painting Workshop, May 15-18 at Weir Farm Art Academy site of the American Impressionists. Weir Farm National Historic Site, Wilton, is the only national park dedicated to painting. Artists will be introduced to the Plein Air experience and the Academy methods used by the American Impressionists, their philosophies and techniques, and how to apply them using one’s own natural abilities to create a personalized visual narrative.

RIDGEFIELD GUILD
7TH ANNUAL JURIED MEMBER SHOW
MAY 6-7

Ridgefield Guild of Artists announces a Call for Artists for its seventh annual Juried Member Show running May 13 – June 18. This exhibition is open to all members of the Guild. (Anyone not a member, can join at receiving.) The Guild will accept up to three pieces of artwork in all media at their gallery on Saturday, May 6, 12-4pm, and Sunday, May 7, 2-6pm. This year’s juror is Helen Kauder, Executive Director of Artspace and co-founder of the City-Wide Open Studios festival in New Haven, Connecticut. She will select the final exhibiting artwork from the works received. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners. First Place prize includes a January 2018 solo exhibition in the Guild’s Upstairs Gallery ($250 value). The opening reception is Saturday, May 13, 4-6pm. BRUCE MUSEUM YOUNG PEOPLE'S EXHIBITION ICREATE
MAY 14

The Bruce Museum is seeking artwork from talented high school students in Fairfield County and the surrounding area by Sunday, May 14. Select pieces will be showcased in the seventh annual iCreate exhibition in the Museum’s Bantle Lecture Gallery. Opening June 17, approximately forty artworks chosen from the hundreds of expected submissions will be on display through July 30. Students in grades 9 through 12 are urged to apply. All submitted work will be recognized through presentation in an official video. Some 100 pieces from the digital submissions will be selected for a live judging on May 22. Finalists will be chosen by a jury of professional artists, who determine the artworks for exhibition after several rounds of voting. This year’s jury will include Daniel Buckley, Bruce Museum Exhibit Designer and celebrated artist, and two other judges to be announced. Any regional high school student may email up to three entries to MLendenmann@brucemuseum.org by the deadline of Monday, May 14. Cash prizes will be awarded from $500 to $100 for the top five honorees as well as a $250 people’s choice award.
CITY LIGHTS GALLERY  7TH ANNUAL      SAMESEX EXHIBIT    JUNE 16
City Lights Gallery, 265 Golden Hill St, Downtown Arts Center, Bridgeport, announces a Call for Entries for its 7th Annual Samesex exhibit, that will run July 15- August 19, 2017 with a reception and PRIDE March on Thursday July 20, 2017. All artists are invited to submit jpegs of their work for consideration by June 16. Artists will be notified by June 30. SameSex explores LGBT themes, same-sex attraction, related feelings and issues of 2017. Artists need not be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender to participate. There is no size limit, however works over 60" will be subject to space limitations. Submit in jpg format, (no more than 8), 72 dpi, by June 16, to: clgallerybpt@gmail.com  together with: brief artist's statement and itemized list of art including: title, size, medium, and price of work. Works not for sale should include a value rather than a price. Include name, email, phone (evening and daytime), mailing address and website.
SOUTHBURY PORTRAIT FESTIVAL
JULY 15

The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists (CSOPA) is partnering with Arts Escape for the Southbury Portrait Festival, 2017 (SPF17), Oct. 1-28. As part of its ongoing mission to promote the classic art of portraiture throughout Connecticut, CSOPA comes to Southbury with a juried exhibition and outreach activities that intend to engage the public with a variety of opportunities to interact with the community through exhibiting, demonstrating, and the creation of original works specifically for this event. STAMFORD ART ASSOCIATION
FABER BIRREN COLOR AWARD EXHIBITION
JULY 23

The Stamford Art Association announces a call for entries for the annual Faber Birren Color Award. In 1980, Faber Birren, world renowned color consultant, author of 27 books on color, endowed the Faber Birren Color Award of $1000 for original and creative expression of color. The Faber Birren Color Award Show has grown from a regional exhibit to one of national scope, encouraging artists in all media. This competition is the only artistic event devoted exclusively to the use of color. This year the Stamford Art Association celebrates its 37th year of the Faber Birren National Color Award Show. This year’s juror is Devon Zimmerman, Ph.D. candidate, former Director's Assistant at Pace, Modern and Contemporary Art Department, Research Assistant at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA. Categories for submission include: Painting, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Photography, Drawing, Printmaking. Exhibition dates: Sept. 24 to Oct. 26, 2017. Smithsonian.com’s 15th Annual Photo Contest is now accepting entries
The Grand Prize, Readers’ Choice prize, Natural World, Travel, People, The American Experience and Mobile category prizes are open to photographers who are 18 years old or older. Contest categories are as follows: 1. Natural World: Animals, plants and landscapes; geological or climatological features; and scientific processes and endeavors. 2. Travel: Locales, peoples or activities in the United States and abroad that convey a sense of place. 3. People: Portraits and photos of groups or individuals. 4. The American Experience: Events, objects or activities connecting the American people to their history or their cultural heritage; photographs that tell us what it means to be an American and provide a sense of what it is like to live in this country. 5. Altered Images: Photographs manipulated for artistic purposes by applying digital and/or traditional special effects (i.e., colorizing, toning, collage, photo composites, HDR, etc.). 6. Mobile: Any photograph taken with a mobile device (phone or tablet).  To be eligible for any category, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since January 1, 2015. No digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos, except for those entered in the Altered Images. Photographs that have won other major photo contests are not eligible for submission.

PAID ART INTERNSHIPS FOR ARTISTS

The Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) will select 10 interns that specialize in the areas of arts administration, arts presenting/ curating, media arts, performing arts, visual arts, arts education, and literary arts and match them with an organization that is aligned to their professional goals and desired career track. This Arts Workforce Initiative has been specifically designed to provide an opportunity for college and emerging art professional applicants that are aligned with COA's READI Framework (Relevance, Equity, Access, Diversity, and Inclusion). READI interns can best be identified as those from historically underrepresented communities. To be eligible, individuals must: be a Connecticut Resident; demonstrate a financial need; align to COA’s READI Framework; have availability to successfully complete the program; be enrolled in an accredited College or University or be an emerging arts professional in arts administration, arts presenting/curating, media arts, performing arts, visual arts, arts education, and literary arts. The internship is for 25 hours per week for 10 weeks. Selected organizations will be granted $3,750 per intern and will pay the intern at the rate of $15 per hour. To apply, downtown the Guidelines here. Etsy, the global creative commerce platform, has announced their 2017 Maker Cities grant program. This grant supports the research and implementation of programs that support the participation of marginalized groups in the creative economy, through a collaboration between multiple stakeholders including local government officials, Etsy sellers, and a locally-focused non-profit or educational institution. The research grant is a one-year grant for local creative communities who want to better understand the challenges marginalized populations in their communities face to starting and running a creative business, and identify opportunities for overcoming those barriers. Etsy will award selected grant recipients up to $30,000. The program grant is a two-year grant for local creative communities who are at a stage where they have identified a need and potential solution to help marginalized populations thrive as creative entrepreneurs and are ready to take action. Etsy will award selected grant recipients up to $60,000, over a two-year period. Grant proposals should include a collaborative implementation plan between all the stakeholders listed on the application--local government officials, Etsy sellers, and a nonprofit with a local presence or locally accredited educational institution. Completed applications should be submitted by the nonprofit or accredited educational institution along with an endorsement letter from a local government official outlining how they plan to support this work and how one or more Etsy sellers will be involved. he deadline to submit applications is May 26, 2017. NYFA COACHING:
THE COVER LETTER

The New York Foundation for the Arts is offering a new service: NYFA Coaching. In addition to offering personalized support for artists and administrators NYFA is including Coach’s Corner, a blog series tackles some of the topics that come up during coaching sessions with NYFA staff. In the first post, Sarah Corpron, Acting Director of Business Services (at left in photo above), offers advice on drafting a compelling cover letter for job applications. Here are some selections: "If a job description explicitly tells you NOT to write a cover letter, then don’t. Otherwise, you should always write a cover letter! …When I read a cover letter, it gives me insight into that person’s passions, personality, and strengths. A good cover letter makes me pause and think about how that person might add to our team or bring a new point-of-view and experience set to our program. It also shows me that the applicant knows what we do and what the job will truly entail, beyond what was described in the listing." Sarah continues with sections headlined: Targeted Research; Start strong; Formatting; Your “Argument”; Close Strong. She recommends have a friend read the letter along with your resume and the job description. Then take the letter away and ask them to tell you what they remember from it. Listen to what they tell you. You can learn a lot about the effectiveness of your own writing by listening to what other people remember as being important or interesting. MARITIME GARAGE GALLERY, NORWALK
CURATOR


The Maritime Garage Gallery, a popular, public art exhibit space, located on the ground floor of the Norwalk Parking Authority (NPA) seeks the services of a curator to refine and extend the Gallery’s potential, starting September 2017. The gallery will provide the curator with the opportunity to create unique and educational exhibits for the general public. Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the Norwalk arts and cultural communities including working relationships with one or more organizations. Stipend of $600 per exhibit, 10% sales commission and up to $100 payment for out of pocket expenses. Exhibit schedule includes 3-4 exhibits per year. Responsibilities include: Create and refine the theme for each exhibit including identification of groups, individuals, organizations represented; Submit to the NPA representative for approval. Manage the call for art and coordinate the collection of the entrance fee with the parking authority (currently $35/selection); Secure and maintain waiver(s) of consent confirming that those exhibiting in the Gallery understand they are responsible for providing their own insurance; Assist the artists, organizations, businesses when they install the exhibit including signage/labeling and arranging for breaking down/return; Provide information to the Parking Authority representative for a press release; Coordinate with the Parking Authority representative the date/time for a reception within the first month of the exhibit’s opening date; Meet with the NPA representative on a quarterly basis to provide an update regarding upcoming exhibits and receive input. WESTPORT COUNTRY PLAYHOUSE
DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER

The Westport Country Playhouse  seeks a Digital Content Manager (DCM) to be responsible for all of the Playhouse’s digital media and content needs. The DCM reports directly to the Director of Marketing and will work closely with the Graphic Design Director, Marketing Assistant, and Public Relations Manager in support of all events at the Playhouse.   Principal Responsibilities will include: 1. SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT - The DCM will ensure that all Playhouse digital needs are fulfilled and in line with the brand, create and manage content (i.e. post video, blogs, photos, etc.), implement a cohesive social media strategy (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and others), develop digital reporting analysis and make recommendations to increase website traffic and revenue potential. 2. VIDEOGRAPHY AND VIDEO EDITING - The DCM will create compelling content by capturing video of rehearsals, interviews and special events. The DCM will edit footage for show trailers, short documentaries, and social media content. 3. WEBSITE DESIGN & MANAGEMENT - The DCM is in charge of making the current design of the Playhouse website and all pages look creatively unified and branded. The DCM will also ensure that all digital copy and images work on both mobile and desktop computing platforms. 4. E-BLAST DESIGN & MANAGEMENT - Working closely with the Graphics Design Director and the Marketing Assistant, the DCM will design and send all Playhouse marketing emails (“e-blasts”). The DCM will also help manage the e-blast communications calendar. 5. DIGITAL MEDIA PLANNING - The DCM will work with the Director of Marketing on all digital media planning strategies and will help create reports to track effectiveness. The DCM will also follow digital media trends and modify the Playhouse media strategy accordingly.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas seeks an experienced, professional Development Manager, to play a vital role in the organization’s fundraising efforts. This is a full-time, salaried position. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented creative-thinker, with excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills.
