GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES
MORE RESCISSIONS
CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS!
NEWS courtesy CT Community NonProfit Alliance
Today, the Governor announced more than $78.8 million in rescissions, most of which target the services provided by community nonprofits. In addition to the Governor's rescissions, the legislature is tasked with finding $140 million in reductions to cover the FY 16 deficit.

SEE DETAILS OF CUTS TO LINE ITEMS IN DECD BUDGET HERE (see pages 2-3)

As devastating as these rescissions are, we must urge legislators to not cut arts, cultural, and community based programs.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

CLICK HERE to email your legislators about this issue right now!  (This link will enable you to select your legislators by zip code and then to use your words in the very brief message.)

We suggest something along the lines of: "The governor's announcement of more than $78.8 million in rescissions on Wednesday, March 16th will close, curtail or significantly diminish arts and culture programs across the State that have significant impact on the quality of life and economic attractiveness of our communities.

I urge you and the legislature to find alternative short-term solutions to this year's deficit, and to work with the arts and culture nonprofit community to craft long term structural changes that can keep the doors of community based nonprofits open to continue to serve and preserve Connecticut communities!"

Please tailor the information to reflect how further cuts will negatively impact you and your community.
