Too Young to Die – Ken Ebright
“So always be ready, because you don’t know the day or the hour the Son of Man will come.” Matthew 25:13 NCV
One day while searching online, I looked up my high school along with the famous people listed there. I found this guy named Frank, who I knew went on to become a politician. I also found out he had passed away a few years ago. When he died, he was in his fifties. My dad told me to go online and find my first friend, Steve. When I went did, I found out he had passed away too, over ten years ago. Steve was forty-five when he died. Both men died of cancer.
One interesting fact about Steve and Frank is that they were young when they died. The average person lives a longer life. Most people believe they are going to live a long life, but, this is not promised. The problem is, we don’t know when our life is going to end.
Since we don’t know when our life is going to end, it’s important for us to know Jesus personally as our Lord and Savior. If we reject Jesus, we will have chosen to spend eternity separated from God and those who are saved. This is not the choice you want to make.
“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels,” Matt 25:41
I don’t know if either of these men knew Jesus. There was a possibility Steve knew Jesus, but Frank is another story. I brought him one night to the high school youth group and he got mad at me. Hopefully, as he grew older, the Holy Spirit got through to him about Jesus.
None of us know the day or hour we will die or when He will return. It is crucial that you learn about Jesus and place your faith and trust in him today. Trust Jesus
