Merciful Father of Love – C D SWANSON

Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. Psalm 89:2 (NLT)

Psalm 89:2 is an incredible reminder of the kind of love God has for us: “Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.” God’s love for you is not only unfailing, but also forever.

His mercy is forever – God’s goodness is the very foundation on which His unwavering mercy rests; and it is from that viable source, and on that solid ground that His acts of mercy flow endlessly, and are held up forever and ever, irrespective of the time elapsed. It is forever, then, now, always.

We are dust and nothingness – Without Him, we are truly nothing, mere scatterings of dust in the air. By His grace and love we are who we are, from birth to death and beyond. It is by His blood that we can be assured of Eternal rewards. It is only because of Him that we are alive.

His love is reliable – It’s His love that is the one sure thing in our lives. Everything else is uncertainty. Life is a gamble of options and choices, and outcomes; a teeter-tottering of “what-ifs” and “why-nots” expressively engraved on our minds. But what is engraved in our hearts and our souls is all that matters. And it is because of Him that we love and can be loved.

“And so, we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16 (NIV)

Live, love and love some more, as He commanded us. It’s this compulsory action and choice that stands to reason for what we do, undertake or participate in daily. Choosing God and expressing love for Him and humanity is what makes all the difference in the world.
