Obeying His Voice by Toni Babcock

Jesus Christ conveyed the idea of uncompromising obedience when he said to His disciples "Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you," (John 15:14).

For the Christian, obedience is doing what we believe Christ has called us to do, knowing God will do for us what He has promised to do in order to achieve it. In this faith, we live out our obedience as believers and experience the life of Christ that makes it truly possible. His promise assures us, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing," (John 15:4-5 KJV).

If we would give all the glory to Jesus Christ our King, let us believe what he said, and do what he asks. Let us surrender all of our own power and acknowledge He is the source of all our strength. Let us accept the fact that without Christ we can do nothing.
