Holding On - by Antje Hill

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:17 (ESV)

Do you ever have problems that just won’t resolve? Our family has been going through a period like this for a while now.  I  had questioned God, "God, I've done the very best I can with this situation. What else can I do?

I grabbed a book, as we started out the door, on a thirty minute drive to our shopping destination.  As I clicked the seatbelt, I opened a favorite book that I had read months earlier.  There on the front inside cover I had written an excerpt:

"We are often put to our most difficult test just before the greatest work of God is about to be accomplished in our lives."

I laid my head back, closed my eyes and breathed a sigh. I had completely lost focus in the emotions of the past days. My faith had dipped and God was lifting me up through the words of my book.  Don't try to tell me we're not in a spiritual battle. It began with Adam and Eve and it continues today in the lives of God's children. No matter how difficult our days, God absolutely knows what He is doing. He has a plan.  He chose not to let us in on His workings. If we were privy to His knowledge,  we wouldn't need faith. Our part is to remember He is for us.
