“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15 (ESV)

We humans are ridiculous. We really are. We have the amazing privilege of running to the Lord, the Creator of the whole universe with our problems and what do we do? We Google.

Don’t even try to tell me different, as I do it too. Get a diagnosis from our doctor . . . Google. Stuck in a pickle and can’t figure out the solution . . . Bing. Not sure if we should take highway 2 or 5 for the best scenery. . . Yahoo! Yes, we are a bunch of yahoos, running to man for answers. I think we’ve forgotten that all information we pull off the internet is man’s logic, opinions or hearsay. I’m not suggesting that we stop using the internet, it is an amazing tool; I’m saying let’s learn to turn to God first.

He hears us. He has the BEST answers to our needs and we can—and should—bring our petitions to Him. Let’s be bold and put faith before ‘facts’. We need to change the settings on our heart to make God our default search engine.
