The Master Key by Tim Pickl

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:19 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

When I was born again into God’s kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit I was given a set of keys. But, like a toddler chewing on plastic Playskool keys, I ignorantly played with those keys when I was young in the Lord. Now, as I grow older in Christ, I apply the spiritual keys Jesus gave me to my life. With His help, I realize that the key I consistently use to stay focused on my Master is repentance.

Repentance is the master key to everything Christian.

Repentance unlocks the chains that bind me. Have I sinned? Repent. Did I have a bad attitude in that situation? Repent. Do I have a bad habit of saying something I shouldn't? Repent. Then He reminds me that repenting only opens the door; He follows it up with I AM the door: Go and sin no more.

Father, thank You for giving me the master key to maintain my walk with You every moment of every day. Thank You for forgiving me and helping me stay focused on You. In Your Name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
