“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Acts 5:42

As a mother, grandmother and retired teacher I am very aware of teachable moments. Those moments in everyday life when an opportunity presents itself for knowledge to be gained or imparted, whether it be a lesson on measurement while baking cookies or an environmental lesson while out for walk. Knowledge is all around us.

Jesus was a master at teachable moments. Wherever the place, whatever the situation He used it in order to teach the people. I believe the Father also uses this method to teach His children. How many times in life have you read a scripture, that you may have read many times before, but suddenly at that moment in time, the light bulb came on and it was as if for the first time you understood the meaning of the verse. Or maybe you were in a situation and didn’t know why and wham, the answer was revealed. And then there are the times when you are indecisive on what to do and all of a sudden God sends someone or something to give you guidance.

God our creator, mentor, and Father imparts to us the wisdom we need, when we need it, according to His plan, in His teachable moment.

Dear Lord, please help me be aware of your teachings every moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen
