Protection from the Heat

By Karen White

Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Psalms 55: 15-16

Not a breeze blowing, not a drop of rain in sight, the heat beats down, the ground is dry and cracking, your skin is burning, the temperature has reached three digits, it is HOT!

Such is the life in Texas. As I feel the intensity of the heat my thoughts to turn to Hell. Literally, the place described in Mark 9:4 “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched”. The good news is that in a few months the temperature here on Earth will become cooler. That is not the case in Hell, for just as Heaven is eternal so is Hell.

For our protection, manufacturers offer us lotions designed to block the harmful rays of the sun. However to gain the benefits of the lotions they must be utilized. Mercifully God has provided us protection through His son. But we must call upon Him in order to receive His protection from the heat and flames of Hell.

Already received His protection? What about our loved ones, friends, and neighbors? We invite them to come in out of the extreme temperatures but do we encourage them to avoid the most excruciating heat ever-that of an eternal Hell?
