Gaining Double When Life Is Unfair
Vernita Simmons
Some of you have had to deal with things you never thought you would. You feel it is unfair, and somebody dealt you a bad hand. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this, but it did. You hoped for something better, and the results left you depleted of hope and discouraged. One incident after the next has left you overwhelmed with unanswered questions. My Friend, God has a word for you today, with a choice to overcome despair. Be still, and know the Lord is sovereign – so behind what you cannot make sense of, He will provide and make all things new.
Beloved, find a way to rise out of those ashes, and cloth yourself in a new way of thinking. Put on a new attitude that goes against the ‘Why does nothing turn out right for me’ syndrome? Or, ‘Why is life so unfair to me when I did nothing wrong?’ Declare that ‘God sees the end I don’t see and will turn it around for my good.’
Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness because you will rise again and soar like eagles. You’ll see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He’s the restorer of the breach and your good shepherd. (Isaiah 40:31; 61:3; 58:12 ESV) and (Psalms 27:13; 23:2-3 ESV). Because of who He is, you can rest in His arms and find peace in the challenges you’re experiencing right now. “…and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24, ESV).
When you let Him turn your sorrow into joy and encourage yourself in the Lord as David did, He will give you renewed strength and place His peace that passes all understanding in your heart. Likewise, not only will He bring you out victoriously, He will bring you out with ‘double for your trouble,’ and you will have twice as much as you had before.
Father, despite how unfair life seems now, I know You are behind the scenes; preparing double for my trouble. Amen
