The Season of Tears - by Karen White

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; 4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh;” (Ecclesiastes 3: 2a, 4a NKJV)

Within the last ten months, we have lost three family members to death. While we miss my grandmother, she had run her race for one hundred years and expressed her desire often to go home and be with her Savior.

Then a few weeks before Christmas, the Lord took my mother-in-law home. Again, she had many health problems and was ready to join the Lord. Although, we grieved for these two, we took comfort in knowing that they had lived long lives.
Two days before the death of my mother-in-law, we received a call that our nephew had been hurt on his job. He lost some of his limbs and was facing a long recovery, but four weeks after the accident we were beginning to believe he would live. Then the final call came, he too had gone to be with the Lord.

Unlike, our other two family members, he had only lived thirty-six years and until the accident was healthy. There have been many tears shed, but we take comfort in knowing we will see them all again and that Jesus is sympathetic to grief, for He wept at his friend’s passing, and He will give us peace during this season of tears.
