Help, Lord, I’m Sinking! - by Harriett Ford

…and when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? (Matt 14:29-31 KJ
V)

The storms of life are very real, and many times I have felt overwhelmed to the point of sinking. Lord, how do I combat my fear of the wind and the waves? I don't want to be of little faith. The Lord whispered, “Child keep your eyes on me. The more you focus on the problem, the greater it becomes. Keep my words in your heart and in your mouth. My words are spirit and life and health to all your flesh. They will not return to me empty, but will accomplish my purpose. You can walk on my Word above the storm.”

I noted how Jesus and Peter boarded the ship and immediately the wind ceased. Then they who were in the ship worshiped the Lord. The Lord spoke again to my spirit. “Don't wait until the storm is past to worship. Have you not read how Paul and Silas were singing songs of praise while inside the prison in stocks? (Acts 16:25) The earth shook, the doors opened and everyone's bonds were loosed. King David prayed and believed he had the victory before any circumstances had changed in (Psa. 28. 6-7). In the midst of the problem, when he feared he would become “like one who goes down to the pit,” David rejoiced and sang praises to the Lord.

Yes! I will say of the Lord, He is greater than the storm. He is my saving strength. I am helped and my heart greatly rejoices.
