Today's Devotional

SELFLESS FAITH– by Stephanie M. White

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through Him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. Acts 3:16 NIV

Faith comes through Christ. Faith isn't something we decide to produce or have. Faith isn't the result of any human effort. Faith only comes from hearing the Word – and we know that He is the Word.

Faith comes through Christ. Faith is His gift to us. He has given us His Word – His love letter to us. This Word is what enables us to produce faith; it's what enables us to produce any Spiritual fruit. If we feel like we're lacking faith we only have one solution – to abide in the Word. Our lack of faith is the result of a lack of the Word - period. We do not lack faith for any other reason. Too many times we beat ourselves up when we doubt. We feel like we must not love God enough or we must be at fault in some way - this is not true. We're only to blame because we're the only ones who determine how much Word we take in. When we disregard the Word we're in the flesh; faith is not being produced. Fall is harvest time; you cannot have a harvest without first planting seed. What kind of Spiritual harvest we have is based on the amount of Word we take in.

We must understand that faith isn't based on us; faith is the result of our intake of the Word– the Seed. Faith is selfless; it's not about us – it's all about Him!
