Today's Devotional
Look to the Reward - Sarah Fehr

“…anyone who comes to him [God] must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6b NIV

This verse has always perplexed me. Not because it requires belief in God’s existence – that God requires us to believe in him makes perfect sense. But that he places such importance our belief that he will reward us for faithfully following him, is surprising to me. I would expect to read something like “…anyone who comes to God must believe that he exists...and that he loves us.” Or “that he exists…and that Jesus exists as his son.” Or “that he exists…and he requires obedience.”

On first glance, it almost smacks of human motivation: do what you gotta’ do to get the results you want. But, well, we are human. God did create us, and he does know how we tick. He knows the importance of keeping a goal before our eyes while slogging through the difficulties of life. Or slogging through the mundane, repetitively “unimportant” day-to-day tasks of life. He is encouraging us to keep looking up. Keep looking forward to the end result. Know that heaven is worth it all and God always keeps His promises!

Sarah Fehr is a wife, the mother of two, and lives in Illinois. She enjoys writing as a creative way to process life and all it brings with it. Contact

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.

An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.

Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.

Recent Amazon Review:

"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17
