What is this glory that comes from God? God bestows his glory upon those who live their lives and spend their days in ways that honor, please and delight Him. Our actions and words will signify that we seek His good pleasure, not others. We will walk through each portion of our day living out of who we are, not who someone else wants us to be. We will live for an audience of One.
We will be true to ourselves by honoring the gifts given, the emotions felt, the words spoken, the desires He has placed in our hearts. We will always be exploring the depths of who we are, who God is, and how He is working in us, through us and around us.
Seeking the glory that comes from God takes courage, determination, openness, attentiveness, surrender and all the power of the Spirit that God has invested in us. Glorifying God is a work of the heart, but not for the weak of heart.
Human glory is fleeting, but the glory of God in a man or woman never fades. It is like the rising sun at the dawning of a new day, growing stronger and brighter over time. In what ways are our days glorifying God? Are we noticing the glory of the Lord upon our life? Notice what habits, activities or conversations cause a sense of distance from God. What might be an alternative that would honor the Lord of our life?
