Revival, Hallelujah!: From the Shoulder
Paul Juby

Out of the blue I started writing poems. Not beautiful ones, not pretty ones, but all with solid messages of hope and direction. These are messages from the shoulder to church leaders and passive Christians and poems to show the way to all seekers. These poems can be read to congregations to stir them into action. These poems can be read in the quiet at home. Almost all bring revival to the fore. Messages are aimed at the heart of every person.

God’s Holy Hill – Sharon Dow

I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill. Psalm 2: 6 NIV

The nations have conspired against God. Earlier in this Psalm we get the sense that God is saying, “How dare they plot against me.” Indeed they are walking on dangerous ground. God will not be mocked; he will not be plotted against without retribution. God laughs at them and scoffs. His rebuke is swift and terrible. He declares that he has installed his King on Zion, his holy hill.

The physical reference is to Jerusalem, God’s chosen city. I like to picture God’s holy hill as a mountain shrouded in mist. Majestic, powerful, unmoveable: the dwelling place of our awesome God.

Moses ascended Mount Sinai to commune with God and to receive God’s commands for his people. God was there; on this majestic mountain, hidden in a dense cloud. For the people of Israel, this mountain, this holy hill, was inaccessible. Only Moses could climb that mountain.
But then Jesus came; came to remove the cloud from the holy hill; came to make possible access to the Father; if we but put our trust in Him. I can now freely climb God’s holy hill. I can walk with him and talk with him.

But we see God through a mist, an imperfect reflection of his face. We would not be able to survive the brightness of his full glory. Even Moses’ face shone after spending time on his holy hill, and Moses was only a reflection. But the day is coming when we will see him face to face; the misty shroud will be removed. Until then, we who believe must show the world the reflected glory of our Heavenly Father.
