Why Mustard Seed Faith is Enough
Michael Edwards

Sometimes, we place our faith in our faith, instead of God, or make faith into a work, always trying harder to do more to please God. Honestly, this can leave us all wound up, unfriendly, judgmental, and unusable for God. The truth is, we only need mustard seed-sized faith because God's hope and peace are not found in our faithfulness. They are a fruit of those who are anchored in His unwavering faithfulness.

What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Rom 3:3-4a ESV

When God promised Sarah a child, she was barren and past the average age to give birth. Years later and more than likely many doubts for Sarah, God faithfully kept His promise, and Isaac was born. But it was not her great faith or faithfulness that brought forth Isaac. As a matter of fact, when Sarah first overheard God's promise, she laughed and then lied about it when questioned by God. We, too, might laugh if we found ourselves in her situation. She knew she was past the age to have a child, as was Abraham. Like us, she also knew her faith was far from perfect. But, with eyes of hope on God, not self, she believed His promise to the best of her ability, leaving the burden of that promise on the Promise Maker, where it belonged. Peace, hope, joy, and rest grew in her life because she judged God, not herself, faithful.

By faith Sarah, even though she was barren and beyond the proper age, was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered Him faithful who had promised. Heb 11:11 BSB

Sarah's example of resting in God's faithfulness, applies to our promised salvation, reward, recompense, and every promise God has made us. God is not like man, making a promise, and failing to keep it. Knowing the end from the beginning, God's promises are prophetic truths to us and a done deal in His eyes. One day, when all is revealed, we will see what He already sees. Right now, our choice is to find rest and peace in His faithfulness or struggle with our own.

If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself. 2 Tim 2:13 ESV

Whose faith will you rest in going forward, yours or His?

Your Enemy is Strong but God is Stronger! Humanly we tend to focus on our predicaments of life and we never begin to see what God has already worked out from our beginning. Relooking at the lies we are told, how our minds get lost and how Satan follows us even into the church.
