Time and time again, because of God's covenant and faithfulness, the Jewish nation survived extinction.
After Esther's mother and father died, her cousin Mordecai cared for her as his own daughter. Mordecai sat at the king's gate in an official role with the king's court. His position allowed him to be privy to private information from the elite magistrates. Subsequently, he uncovered a murderous plot to exterminate the Jewish population. At that time in history, Esther, an exile from Israel, was selected by God to bring forth His promise to save His chosen people. During this period, many Gentiles also turned in faith to the 'True God' and became one with the people of God.' (Est 8:17) To this day, Jewish people continue to celebrate their deliverance by God from the genocidal plans of Haman.
Esther's internal humility and her rise from an unknown Jewish girl to the queen of a mighty empire, illustrates how God can use terrible events and unassuming people to fulfill His plans. Centuries have passed since then, but it is still true today; only our all-knowing and all-powerful God can guarantee real freedom from sin, decay, and death, no matter what evil plans the enemy may bring.
Today, the enemy's plans have risen to destroy again. But you can be sure, God can and will use these circumstances for the ultimate good, to save many.
Our heavenly Father has always loved us and had compassion for us (John 3:16). So, don't give up hope. Trust His love, promises, ability, and power to deliver us from the enemy's hands in this generation as He has always done in the past.
