I Am Loved by God – Tricia Draper

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” (1 John 4:10 NLT)

There are many qualities we have in Christ we sometimes fail to recognize. God sees us in ways we do not see ourselves. He loves us, and this is just one of many scriptures that prove it. We are loved by our Heavenly Father, and we need to understand that truth. He loves us more than we will ever know.

Love is an ambiguous word. We can say we love God and our pets in the same sentence, yet they are completely different forms of love. There are also different levels of love, but God paid the ultimate price for the love we will never be able to give back to Him. We can love Him with our whole hearts, but His love will always be greater. We would not know what this ultimate love is if He had not shown us through the sacrifice of His Son.

When we know we are loved, life takes on new meaning. We can start our day with pep in our step. We have joy throughout our day. We rest assured God is with us, and He will never leave us on our own. When we know we are loved by God, we enjoy giving love back to Him.

Father, I thank You for loving me in a way I can never repay. You have shown me how to love by loving me first. I want to honor You with my offering of love from a willing heart. Thank You for all You have done for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
