In this dark and quiet place is an indescribable richness, filled with nutrition. It is safe here. Attached by a strong cord through which precious life flows, growth happens as small cells are genetically woven together. A form slowly emerges with human biological elements. A body, a head, limbs and organs contained within skin. The process cannot be hurried and the product depends significantly on the health of the dwelling place in which this precious treasure lies. Hearts and hopes, watch and wait as growth happens. Ideally, nine months, the long wait of time ordained since creation.
The female womb is the perfect setting for nesting and feeding. Designed by our Creator, the mother-to-be hopes and waits for the finale of birth! Yes, it is painful as her prepared body slowly delivers her treasure over hours or days. Her child's entry into the world is full of unstoppable activity and joy unspeakable in the end.
The strong cord is severed, yet the love lingers on and cannot be broken. Years of loving and waiting follow, as the new life grows from babyhood to an adult, from slow hiddenness to progressive visualization.
New life and birth is a miracle only Yahweh can perform. "In the beginning, God.." {Genesis 1:1a NIV}
He designed the waiting and the birthing! He birthed a Kingdom through Jesus and He waits! Yes, He waits for His children to reach out to him and grow into who He created us to be. Like seeds in the dark soil grow in infinite stages, so do the children of God. Formed by Him, we emerge into His Light.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you.." {Jer 1:5a NKJV}
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. {Eph 2:10 ESV}
