Bad things are happening in the world. How do I fear not?
Jesus said not to let our hearts be troubled or afraid. A fearful thought must be replaced with the Word of the Lord.
"We cast down arguments (fearful images in our minds) that contradict the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5
Fear robs us of God's peace. Fear robs us of the boldness to go on into the Promised Land, where the giants are when God says we are well able to possess the land. Fear makes us see ourselves as "grasshoppers" in the enemy's sight, instead of who we are, mighty warriors dressed for battle with weapons of warfare, mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.
As we rise with the sword of the spirit in hand—quoting scripture like Jesus did when tempted--the spirit of fear retreats, trembling and fleeing.
"Fearful thoughts, I cast you out of my imagination. I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus, and I see the victory He has for me as surely as I see the sunrise. Praise God!"
