When God works through you, then along with God getting the glory, you get respect, and when you allow Satan to work through you, then it's you who gets the disrespect. Look at the situation from this perspective: when you are working for God, then God makes you a part of what he receives (i.e. respect and glory), but when you yield for Satan, then it's only you who has to face the repercussions (i.e. disgrace) because Satan has already disgraced himself by falling into the pit. God promises you the crown of life, a life in heaven, a future of hope. God will stand by you in whatever situation you are in because he is your Father, but Satan will use you and let you receive the consequences alone.
When you remain in God, even while you face sufferings, you will be comforted (2 Corinthians 3,4). If you look at life from God's perspective, you will be comforted through all your trials, but if you see it through the lens of Satan, even the right situation and right people seem wrong.
When you treat your blessings (which are from God) with disgrace, the same will come back to you. Satan would encourage you to do more acts by filling in your thoughts with negativity. He will guide you to the path of darkness and once you are in the pit, he will leave you alone with the same negativities to fight. You would find yourself grudging over the same old stories of anger and discontent mental, unable to see the blessings God is still showering on you.
The choice remains yours as for whom to yield.
