I was surprised that when I went to a football game in the late nineties that they were still doing "The Rooster Cheer." It was not a state high school league sanctioned cheer. You would not find any other high school chanting it.
Nothing in this world lasts forever: fame, pleasure, or a cheer. There will be a day when "The Rooster Cheer" will be forgotten as well as who won the game. The four years that I was in high school, I don't remember how many football games the Jaguars won.
Consequently, too many Christians get caught up in the things of this world and forget about what is really important. We need to invest ourselves in the lives of lost people. We are all going to spend eternity somewhere. Will it be in the Lake of Fire or with Jesus? If we don't reach them, they will burn in the blazing furnace.
Forget about the junk of this world, but remember the lost.
