Without Redemption
David Griffith

When an injury in a Texas rodeo arena sends Lonnie Bowers home for the season, his boss comes calling with complimentary tickets for a Costa Rica vacation. Clarissa thinks it's a grand idea. Father and son bonding time. A little sand, some sun. Who would turn that down? Lonnie is skeptical of this sudden generosity. But he didn't know it would turn into a race with death as he tries to save Clarissa and Conor from a drug cartel's vengeance.

Today's Devotional
Stay the Course - by Susan Ferguson

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9 NIV)

The story of Caleb and Joshua speaks mightily to us today. These brave Israelite men teach us not to lose heart before the victory comes. Their story begins after Moses delivered the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery, and led them through the desert to the border of the Promised Land (Canaan).

Moses sent twelve spies into Canaan to explore the land. Forty days later they returned, and all twelve spies agreed that it was a magnificent land, flowing with milk and honey. But ten spies reported that the cities were large and fortified, the people were strong - and they even saw giants there. Among the twelve spies were Joshua and Caleb, who gave a good report. Caleb encouraged the people to go and take the land, for they were well able to conquer it. (Numbers 13:30) But the ten spies feared the people of Canaan, and their bad report spread throughout the camp. The Israelites grumbled against Moses and said that they wanted to go back to Egypt. They forgot that God brought them out of slavery, performed miraculous signs and wonders, fed them, and protected them in the desert. Except for Joshua and Caleb, that unfaithful generation didn't enter Canaan, and for forty years they wandered in the wilderness. After Moses' death, Joshua took command and led the new generation of Israelite's into the Promised Land.

Blindsided by fear, the Israelites didn't go the distance. Caleb and Joshua's story sends us a powerful message to stay the course and keep trusting God.

It will be the most blessed, rewarding, and holy life in the Lord, which I have embarked upon now.’” Roger P.
