One night, I had a dream where I was standing in the driveway of the house that I grew up in. I had my suitcases on my luggage cart, ready to run away from home. My dad stood at the door and locked it. Fear gripped my heart; I felt like he was telling me that I could never come home again.
Thankfully, that was a fantasy, but there are some people in this world who hear about Jesus and run away from Him. They think they don’t need the Lord in their lives and believe they would better off without Jesus. One day, the lost will have to stand before their maker, and unbelievers won’t be able to run away.
It was scary to think of my dad locking me out of my house; it would be even more frightening to be locked out of Heaven. On this side of Heaven, it’s possible I could reason with my dad and get him to let me in. Once you die, there is no chance to get the door unlocked. The runaways will have made their choice and be cast into the lake of fire forever.
And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:15 NCV
God's desire is that all be saved (1 Tim 2:4) and that no one is locked out. Accept Jesus today, and you won’t need to worry about your future home.
