Sin Problems? - by Michael Edwards
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:14 ESV
This verse is very clear that I am no longer under the law but under grace. Therefore, if sin appears to be ruling in my life I can conclude that I must have placed myself back under the law in my mind.
This is like throwing more wood on the fire (…sinful passions, aroused by the law…Rom 7:5 ESV).
This has rearmed the enemy ("…the power of sin is the law." 1 Cor 15:56 ESV)
Truth does not change if I believe something different. However, if I do not believe the truth according to the Bible, the key to defeat sin and its dominion in my life is grace. I will forever remain under sins dominion.
Dear Lord, Thank you for your undeserved favor (grace) in my life. By faith I believe your word and trust that your grace is sufficient to break sins dominion in my life. Amen
