Psalm 23 for Kids
Louise Lee

This story happens to an ordinary boy on one ordinary day… David had become so “sheepy” that he couldn't recognize himself. What had happened? What are these strange-looking, smelly creatures all around him? Before David could figure out what had happened, he was in grave danger…

Review:  "It's interesting how the author weaved the story of the boy into the psalm. She skillfully transport the boy from contemporary times back to the time of the Psalm. A bedtime story that all kids can imagine themselves as sheep with a loving Shepherd protecting them in times of danger. They will learn that they can depend on Jesus all the time." Ang Eng

PRIDE AND PERCEPTION
By Lisa Carter

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

I don’t consider myself a prideful person. However, I know I have my moments. This was evident to me when my daughter and I paid a late visit to the mall one evening. She needed an item from one particular store so we rushed inside just before closing time.

We both noticed the sales clerk in the corner folding clothes and it struck me how she never once looked up to speak to us. Being that we were customers in that store, I expected we would be treated with more respect. Even when we were near to her, she didn’t say hello or even ask if we needed help finding anything. I noticed I was becoming increasingly annoyed with her.

I didn’t want to come off as rude, but I wanted to say something about her behavior. My daughter selected her item and we approached the register to pay. The clerk still didn’t speak to us. That was it, I decided. I said to her, “Rough day?” There was hint of sarcasm in my voice, I admit. She looked up at me and said, “Oh, no. I just had dental work done today and my mouth is killing me.”

At that moment, I felt really bad. Here I had been feeling so frustrated with this young lady, and she was in pain the whole time. She wasn’t just being rude, or trying to cause frustration. I learned a great lesson in how I cannot depend on my perception, or how I see things; because it could be misleading.
