Today's Devotional
Restore To Greatness
By Kathy E. Dockett

"If you can break my covenant by day and night so that they no longer come
at the appointed time, then my covenant with David my servant and the
Levites who are priests ministering before me-can be broken and David will
no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. " (Jeremiah 33:20-22 NIV)

This entire chapter of Jeremiah is dedicated to restoration. The key to being restored is obedience. But, first you must turn from your sins and repent because God cannot move when there is sin in your life. Restoration is not
only for one area, it is for all areas to prosper you according to His purpose. When you ask of God that shows your dependence on Him. That
dependence acknowledges that God, and God alone, is sovereign.

In Jeremiah 33:19, the Lord speaks of His covenant. God uses a parable to describe that His covenant cannot be broken for He sees the
future. In verses 20-22 (as stated above)it means that day and night cannot be changed, however, when you notice the word "if," then you know that there are no "ifs" with God. So the covenant states to the point that Christ Jesus will sit on David's throne. This covenant is impossible to break, for if it were broken, there would not have been an everlasting King.
"So in my word that goes out from my mouth, it will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11)NIV.

Christ suffered for your sins so that you can be forgiven, "Oh how great is the love that He has lavished upon us so that we should be called children of God" (1 John 3:1) NIV.
