I also knew God loves me, but I always assumed there was no comparison to how much he loves Jesus, until I actually studied the Bible. When I did, I discovered the following words directly from Jesus.
“I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” (John 17:23 NLT) Wow!
God wants us to be rooted and grounded in His love for us. Once we are, he tells us we will be filled with the fullness of God.
that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 3 17-19 ESV
I don’t know about you, but being filled with the fullness of God is something I desire.
But God (The Father), being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ…. Eph 2:4-6 ESV
Father, I fully believe Jesus words, you love me as much as you love him. Help me to be rooted and grounded in your love for me so I will be filled with your fullness. Amen
