The Formula: Unwrapping the True Meaning of Self-Esteem - James Thomson

He found the formula for Godly self-esteem,now his victory can be yours! After years of struggling with his sense of self-worth, the author finds a final answer to the question, "What is my true value?" What Jim learns, The Formula, is at the heart of this very personal story of loss and recovery.

Review: 5 Stars - Finally someone got to the root of the problem.

"After many years of reading self help books and wondering why they had not worked for me, this book is truely a breath of fresh air! With The Formula not only am I able to make the changes I've always needed to make, but I am also keenly aware of the lives I need to impact. I intend to not only use this on myself, but also begin to set the foundations properly in my granddaughter who is only 6. I'm so glad I could finally read a book and not just walk away with a warm and fuzzy feeling but actually have a good solid plan that will impact my life and hopefully change others around me. Thank you to Jim Thomson." Raynette C.

Today's Devotional
Tarnished but Faithful - by Sarah Fehr

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 KJV)

As a believer, I know this verse well. I can rattle it off thoughtlessly in answer to the question, "What is faith?"

The writer of Hebrews goes on to give us examples of faith in the Old Testament. Surprisingly, some of these examples have less-than-stellar reputations: Jacob the deceiver, Rahab the prostitute, Gideon the doubter, Barak the spineless, Samson the womanizer, Jepthah the foolish, David the adulterer and murderer. It seems to me they have tarnished, if not downright stained, records.

As I continue to peruse Hebrews 11, I arrive at what I believe to be the linchpin of faith. Verse 34 says, "who out of weakness were made strong." Should I tolerate sin in my life? Shall I sin so that grace might abound? Of course not. Romans 6 takes care of that conundrum. But the good news is that in spite of the fact that I sometimes let my humanness drag me down, by faith, I can trust that I can and will be used by God.

Sarah is a wife and mother of two preschoolers. She enjoys writing as a de-stressor and avenue of self-expression. Contact
