Why a Believer Should Fully Trust God Over Themselves = Michael Edwards
Each of us faces trials, decisions, and uncertainties that challenge our trust. When we look to God, we find many reasons to trust Him.
First, God is the Creator of everything. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Isaiah 40:28 calls Him the everlasting Creator. The One who made all things is attentive to our lives, which gives us confidence in His care.
Second, He knows everything about us and still loves us. Psalm 139:1-4 reminds us that God knows our thoughts and actions completely. Yet Romans 5:8 says that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. His love is not based on our perfection.
Third, He has forgiven us in Christ. 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins, He forgives and cleanses us. Because of Jesus, we can live free from guilt and trust Him fully.
Fourth, He has made us righteous and holy. 2 Corinthians 5:21 teaches that through Christ we become the righteousness of God. We are set apart as His children.
Fifth, He is for us. Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This truth gives us strength in every challenge.
Sixth, He has given us eternal life. John 3:16 assures us that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. Our future is secure in Him.
Seventh, He has made us co-heirs with Christ. Romans 8:17 tells us we share in His promises, strengthening our trust in His goodness.
Eighth, He is in charge of everything. Psalm 115:3 says He does all that He pleases. His sovereignty brings peace even when life feels uncertain.
Ninth, He is all-powerful and faithful. 2 Timothy says if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
Tenth, He cannot lie. Titus 1:2 says God promised eternal life before time began. His truthfulness is the foundation of our trust. Numbers 23:19 reminds us that God does not lie or change His mind. What He promises, He fulfills.
Eleventh, He promises to provide and calls us not to worry or fear. In Matthew 6:25-26, Jesus tells us not to be anxious, pointing to how God cares for the birds. In Matthew 6:33, He promises that as we seek His kingdom first, our needs will be provided. God invites us to trust Him instead of living in fear.
Trusting God means relying on Him daily and for eternity. Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us to trust Him with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.
When we trust God daily and acknowledge His continually presence in our life, our perspective changes. We gain peace, hope, and confidence, knowing He is with us and faithful in every step of life.
