| | | The Transforming Power of God’s Perfect Love
“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” (1 John 4:16 NASB)
In the New Covenant, the love of God is not a distant concept but a living reality poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5 NASB). This perfect love transforms everything. It casts out fear and empowers us to love God and others freely.
John reveals this glorious truth: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:18-19 NASB). Under the Old Covenant, fear of punishment dominated. The New Covenant brings assurance because Jesus’ blood has removed condemnation forever (Romans 8:1 NASB). When we focus on how deeply God loves us, fear loses its grip.
God demonstrated His love dramatically: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NASB). “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NASB). This is the New Covenant foundation—unconditional, sacrificial, eternal love sealed by Jesus’ blood (Luke 22:20 NASB).
Fixing our eyes on this love changes us. As we know and believe God’s love for us, we are perfected in love. Fear of rejection, failure, or punishment dissolves. In its place rises bold confidence and intimate relationship with the Father. “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’” (Romans 8:15 NASB).
This focus produces powerful fruit. Knowing we are greatly loved enables us to love God with all our heart. It overflows into loving others: “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11 NASB). Love fulfills the law (Romans 13:8-10 NASB) and becomes the hallmark of New Covenant living.
Today, meditate on God’s love for you. You are fully forgiven, completely accepted, and eternally secure in Christ. Abide in His love (John 15:9 NASB). Let it cast out every fear. As you receive His perfect love, you will love Him more deeply and love others more freely—exactly as He designed in the New Covenant of grace and truth.
And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood." Luke 22:20

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
