| | | SEASONS – WHAT DO THEY SAY? Deepika Emmanuel Sagar
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)
From winter to spring and then to summer, from summer to autumn and then back to winters; each season has its own beauty. Look at the plants and how they respond to the seasons. Autumn is the time to shed what is old and make room for the new. There is a time for sifting through our thoughts and habits and pausing to reflect on the past, developing an understanding for what has gone and what is going to come.
Consider winter as a time to develop discernment for various life aspects, asking the Lord to be your guide. Set new goals and get prepared spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and (if required) financially for the new that you have planned. Fill your body, mind, and soul for the ‘resources’ needed.
Spring tells us to take courage to ‘bloom’ forth flowers and ‘sprout’ new leaves using the ‘substance’ filled within. Push your boundaries to try new things. Execute your plans with prayers and spiritual guidance. Sow new ‘seeds’ and work on the soil, which is the mind, body and soul. Some ‘seeds’ will sprout as a successful plan but some may not. Don’t hold on to what went wrong, but learn from it and keep moving. This is the most important aspect; keep moving. Let the time in which you enjoy your hard work be as refreshing summers, full of hope like sunlight; bringing nourishment and confidence.
Seasons don’t wait; they have their own time to come and go. Some might take longer than expected but they do change. That’s the essence of life, it’s all about change. It’s on us how we perceive the change in order to develop a correct perspective towards life. What we think, is what we live.

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
