| | | As Bold as Lions – Cheryl Weber
Not too long ago, I watched a short video in which a full-grown black bear had wondered onto a family’s property and the family dog was courageously confronting the roaring bruin while the dog’s humans shouted out from the background for him to back off. Then out of the right side of the camera, shot the family cat. Yowling and shrieking, it jumped up on its hind legs and into the bear’s face, close enough to be swatted across the property. But the bear only snapped at the cat, then turned and ran. The cat gave one more shriek and a yowl for good measure.
Perhaps that kitty thought it was a lion. Proverbs 18:1 declares that the power of Almighty God within the righteous makes them bold as lions, able to stand against evil. In Luke 10:19, Jesus told his disciples he would give them authority over all the power of Satan and in Romans 8:37, Paul says that even though we suffer, “overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” NLT Ephesians 5:7-12 details our spiritual armor, including the sword of God’s Word, and John assures his readers in 1 John 4:4-5, that those who belong to Jesus, “have already won a victory over those [with the spirit of the Antichrist], because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” NLT
And in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, we learn that we are to, “use God’s mighty weapons . . to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments and proud obstacles that keep people from knowing God.”
When we live in obedience to the Lord, and stay in touch with Christ through his Word, knowing who we are in him, we have pure hearts and minds that keep us free for spiritual warfare. We can overcome the works of the enemy in our lives and the lives of those around us.
PRAYER; Father, thank you for making us your children through the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins. Help us draw on the power of the Holy Spirit to make us bold as lions. AMEN |

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 ESV

if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.… Romans 10:9-10 BSB
Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
