Approaching the Easter Season, I have been rereading the accounts of the Crucifixion and Resurrection in the Gospels. As a result, I have become intrigued with the Veil in the Temple. For centuries the veil, or curtain, had been a barrier between our Holy God and sinful humanity. When God gave directions on the building of the Tabernacle to Moses, the Holy of Holies could be accessed one day a year—the Day of Atonement—and only the High Priest could go into the very presence of God. Thus, only very few people ever had the privilege of going beyond the Veil. (Exodus 26 NIV)
According to first-century historians, during the time of Jesus, the veil of the Temple was sixty feet high, thirty feet wide, and about four inches thick. The thickness was astounding to me—a hand-breadth, or approximately, four inches thick. It took about three hundred priests to handle it. When Jesus died, it tore from top to bottom, giving us access to the Father at any time.
I thought of the barriers in our lives today, keeping us away from God. It may be unforgiveness toward someone, or a relationship that you know is displeasing to God, or feeling that you are unworthy. You are just uncomfortable in God’s presence.
First of all, God has settled the sin problem. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us….” (Ephesians 1:7-8a NIV) He is just waiting for you to call upon him and ask for forgiveness. If self-doubt hinders you from enjoying God’s presence, look at 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) where Paul declares a message from the Lord, “My grace is sufficient for you…”.
Don’t fret another day. Come to God and pray, “Father, I am sorry for the things in my life that disappoint you. I thank you that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross is sufficient for me. I want to serve You whole-heartedly. Thank you, in Jesus’ name, amen.”

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
