2013 Altos las Hormigas Malbec
Appellation Gualtallary

$270 6pack

93 Points Wine Advocate

“The 2013 Malbec Appellation Gualtallary is sourced from vineyards planted at 1,300 meters altitude in Gualtallary, the highest part of Tupungato in the Uco Valley, where the soils are eminently chalky and the wines are pure, fresh and supple, like this example. The wine fermented in small stainless steel vats and matured in 3,500-liter French oak foudres for some 18 months, which seems to be the new standard for élevage at Las Hormigas. The nose delivers what the appellation and vintage should be: an elegant, fresh, fruit- and soil-driven red, with a medium body. Altos las Hormigas continues the path of elegance, balance and chalky minerality in their wines.”
2013 Altos las Hormigas Malbec
Appellation Vista Flores

$270 6pack

93 Points Wine Spectator

“The spicier of the appellation Malbecs might be the 2013 Malbec Appellation Vista Flores, also a little riper with juicy cherries and hints of cassis intermixed with the flowery aromas and the elegant minerality found in all of the range. The palate is silky and juicy, very balanced with refined tannins and a slightly bitter finish. Juicy, delicious and subtly mineral. 5,884 bottles produced.”
